Renault R35, Tamiya 1/35

Posted by Viper Hobby on

Our friend Tom Morgan from Winnipeg-Canada, did a extensively detailed Renault R35 in 1/35 scale, early 1939. It has been extensively re-detailed and back-dated to an early production example.  Tom chose No. 50254 because it had difference camo schemes on the hull and turret, as well as the unusual pale green border lines.

  • At Tiger Hobbies in Winnipeg, MB, in 2013, there was a selection of built models on display. I picked out one that obviously stood out from the rest—it was Thomas Morgan’s. Wanting to meet him, we met at that same store’s annual Christmas function. Not only did he spend time with chatting, he invited me to his studio so I could get a handle on a professional set up after being away from the hobby for 40 years. Tom’s recent work has reached a new level of both detail and overall finish. A former Nephrologist, one can see how he performs surgery on his models! I hope to touch base with him soon, as I have a project that needs some guidance. Regards, Paul from Winnipeg
